Alicia Hannah-Kim got ready with Timid for the sixth and final Cobra Kai season premiere, an event thrown by Netflix that marked the end of an era. Dressed in a sheer red gown with her hair in a sleek high ponytail and soft makeup, Hannah-Kim, who played the ruthless and dangerous Kim Da-Eun on the show, looked confident, powerful, and ready to tackle the night ahead.

Hannah-Kim’s excitement was infectious, even before the event began. K-pop music played in the background, and as her glam team completed the final touches, she lip-synced to the songs, already having fun.

“Did you meet Lisa?!” was the first thing Hannah-Kim asked when she saw me, referencing a photo I had taken with BLACKPINK’s Lisa at the White Lotus season three premiere just two nights before. Laughing, she added, “Tell me everything.”

Fashion has always played a key role in Hannah-Kim’s red carpet moments, and tonight’s look was no exception. “I feel like a sexy and empowered sensei tonight. She’s getting her sexy on,” she said. Her team ensured that every element of her look highlighted both her natural beauty and the fierce energy of her Cobra Kai character.

Makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua focused on enhancing her glow with natural tones while hair stylist Yuma Bastet took inspiration from Sensei Kim’s signature long, braided hair but reimagined it with a sleek, flowing ponytail to showcase her natural hair. Stylist Benjamin Holtrop described their process as a true fashion collaboration, blending Hannah-Kim’s personal style with high-fashion influences. “Every project with Alicia is about storytelling through fashion. We balance her personal style with fresh, high-fashion elements. Sometimes she leads with a strong concept; other times, I bring an idea to the table. But one thing’s certain—she loves taking risks, and that makes it so exciting.”

For Hannah-Kim, fashion isn’t just about dressing up. “Fashion, to me, is about freedom and expression,” she said. “It’s about expressing who you are without saying a word.” She definitely accomplished that last night, showing strength, elegance, and confidence.

When asked about a memorable moment from the last season on set, Hannah-Kim didn’t hesitate. “Definitely the moment when Kim Da-Eun finally put an end to her grandfather Kim Sun-Yung’s legacy while in head-to-toe leather,” she recalled. “It’s like all of season five worked up to that. It was such a climax for the character, and it became the catalyst for her changing.”

While it feels bittersweet to say goodbye to the beloved characters on Cobra Kai, we are excited to see what’s next for Hannah-Kim.
